Some Party Rentals to Consider for Your Wedding

While there are some things you will purchase for your wedding, such as wedding favors, the bride's wedding dress, and flowers to name a few. There will also be those things which you will rent instead of purchase because it would not be cost effective to purchase them, and because they are items you will most likely only use only the one time.

Here are some examples of party rentals that you might consider for your wedding.

  1. Party Bus. Believe it or not in most cities there are companies who will rent out a very stylish sort of bus called a party bus. Often on these buses there is a light show, maybe a wet bar, room enough to dance and other fun things. They are great transportation choices for any large wedding group such as for a bachelor or bachelorette party for example.
  2. A boat. Getting married on a cruise ship isn't the only way to be married on the water these days. If you are fortunate enough to live close to a city that has a river running through it, then most likely there is a boat that can be rented for couples to be married on. One example of this would the Spirit of Portland on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. The only thing with renting a boat is that you need to find out ahead of time how many people you can bring on board, because depending on the size of the boat, the number of people can be limited.
  3. Tables and chairs. I have yet to go to a wedding where extra tables and chairs were not needed. Chances are you will be renting these anyway as most couples do, and having one or two extra tables and a few extra chairs is always a good idea. While you may have only invited 30 people to your wedding, if you said they could bring a guest, you have 60 potential guests at your wedding then. While some may not bring anyone with them, it is always best to be prepared.
  4. A tent. If you are having an outdoor wedding whether in a park, or someone's backyard, you may need one or more tents. A tent can provide much needed relief from heat, rain and other types of weather where you may want to be protected. A tent can also be a great way to add some pizazz to your theme wedding, say you decided on an Arabian Nights theme for example, you will probably want a few tents then! Keep in mind that if it is especially stuffy inside, you may also want to get some industrial grade fans to keep the air flowing.
  5. Dishes and utensils. Not all of us have the benefit of having our great-grandmother's priceless china and real silver utensils for our wedding, or maybe we do, but we don't want to take the chance a dish may be dropped and broken. If this is the case and you are having a more formal reception meal, you may want to rent your dishes and utensils. Of course if you're having a very casual affair with a backyard barbecue and country music blaring, you probably can get by without renting any dishes and utensils. The formality of the event decides if you need this party rental.
  6. Servers. If you are having a more formal affair, then most likely you will want to hire some food and drink servers. This task can be made easy if you are already using a full service caterer, as most of the time they can provide you with the staff as part of your catering package. You can get any type of server from a full-blown chef, to someone to tend your wet bar, to people to clean up afterwards just to name a few.
  7. Sound and video equipment. While not everyone chooses to video tape their wedding, these days many couples do. In fact when one company interviewed guests at a wedding and gave them a choice of looking at pictures of a wedding versus watching a video, the majority chose the video. That being said you may want to rent sound and video equipment as well as the staff to set up and run the equipment to video tape the most important day of your life.
  8. Stage and or gazebo. If you are getting married outdoors, and or in someone's backyard, you may want to rent a stage and or a gazebo. This will be the place that the actual ceremony will take place and where you, your beloved and the minister will stand. The nice thing about a stage is if you have a large group it will make it very easy for everyone to see you. This of course is advantageous because you won't have to worry about people being stuck in the back of the crowd with no visibility.

These are only a few of the many party rentals available for you to rent for you wedding, there are many more. You will decide which party rentals are best for you based on whether or not your wedding will be outdoors, or indoors, and whether or not you are having a themed wedding and need additional party rentals to follow that theme, and how much you have budgeted for party rentals. Whatever your choices, party rentals are a fine way to save money and still have a wonderful wedding!
